Gudrun Artware is a unique, wearable art line of clothing and accessories created by visual artist Anne Gudrun.
Gudrun's bold and vibrant designs are inspired by the beauty of nature and created from her original artwork. A truly "slow clothes" process, each piece begins as a drawing on canvas, then meticulously painted with her brilliant use of oils. The painting is digitally reproduced onto fabric and then hand cut and sewn.
One day while creating a nature-inspired painting, Anne Gudrun imagined wearing a full-size print of her art.
“While I was painting I imagined myself wearing my art and I was suddenly inspired with the idea of making my painting into a dress. I began researching how I could transform my original artwork onto fabric. My vision was to re-create the complete painting onto the fabric for a unique style that represented my art.”
After much research and testing, she designed and created her signature Rose Dress from her original art. Her boutique clothing line was first launched in 2013. “Creating my art as fashion became a new form of creative expression and another way to bring art and beauty to people’s lives.”
Each piece is custom designed, then digitally produced and transferred onto fabric where it is hand cut and sewn. All products are printed and made in Canada.
Anne's 'wearable art' fashion line is marketed and sold through local fashion events and shows, her online boutique and from her studio-gallery in North Vancouver.
